Do you ever daydream about things which would never happen? I don’t just mean the bizarre and wonderful like the heavens opening and raining bananas, or jumping off a trampoline into a giant pool of chocolate pudding. I mean daydreams about meeting and hanging out with a famous person you adore, in a far-fetched situation. I’ve been having several daydreams about Joe Jonas lately, which I’m pretty sure would never happen, but it’s fun to fantasize.
The latest one involved me entering into a Spanish Texas Hold’em tournament in a casino in Barcelona, and who should be sat opposite me: Joe Jonas. Not only was Joe Jonas playing in a game of poker in a European country, and doing well, but I managed to beat him. Instead of receiving more poker chips, or Euros, my prize was a kiss from Joe. Now there are several things wrong with this scenario.
Number one: I can’t play poker. I tried once on the partypoker website, but I wasn’t very good. Number two: Sadly the chances of him being in a Spanish speaking country, and not in the US is unlikely. Number three: What is the likelihood of the prize for winning being a kiss from Joe Jonas? He was playing in the tournament as well, and he can’t kiss himself. And finally number four: Who can imagine Joe Jonas playing poker?
Don’t get me wrong, he’s a consenting adult nowadays, so if he wanted to play in one of the celebrity games which take place in Hollywood homes, he could. However, no one has ever heard of him participating, so it seemed a little far-fetched. Still, it would be fun. The main thing I learned from this dream is that I lack imagination. The dream wasn’t even the ideal scenario for me to play poker opposite him. If I was to miraculously win a competition to spend the day playing poker against Joe Jonas, I would want us to make up our own version.
Maybe every time you fold you have to shout out the name of a random Spanish city or country, like “Madrid!” or “Ecuador!”. Or, instead of playing with poker chips we wager with songs instead: every time he loses he has to sing a song of my choice to me. In Spanish. The list of possibilities is endless.
If anyone else had the opportunity to play a game of poker, or any other with Joe Jonas, how would yours play out?
